Most common reason for this one is out of date graphics drivers or direct X.
Second most common problem is corrupted client files.
Third most common is complicated and not necessarily fixable.
So check your drivers and directx are up to date. If that doesn't work completely uninstall Maple and Hackshield and then reinstall them (or you can us a seperate working install and just overwrite yours with that if you have access to one).
